Herberton Military Weekend

Troops and Trains Trekking Back to WWII

"Troops and Trains Trekking Back to WWII" will be hosted by the Herberton RSL Sub Branch this year on 20 and 21 July, to commemorate the 82nd Anniversary of the Kokoda Campaign and bring to awareness the considerable part Herberton played in WWII as the site of jungle warfare training camps for troops prior to going to fight in New Guinea and Borneo.

The multi-day event will host troop trains, a commemorative parade, swing dancing, bus tours to training camp sites and family activities throughout the weekend.
